The story of toxic oxygen, bacteria and life

Is it possible that oxygen is a poison that takes 80 years to kill us?

This statement is of course appalling and extremely imprecise, but in fact it also has its narrow rationality.

After all, the root cause of aging is oxidation, which is why we take various “antioxidants” internally and externally. Although you and I rely on oxygen to survive, the origin of life on earth has nothing to do with oxygen, and it may not be necessary for life.

Let us temporarily put aside the re-examination of whether oxygen is beneficial or harmful, and then put forward an argument that may reshape your world view: This earth does not belong to humans, nor does it belong to any animal, plant or insect. There is no doubt that This is a planet of microorganisms.

* Microorganisms are a general term for tiny organisms that are difficult to see directly with the naked eye, including bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes, protozoa, algae and other microorganisms with cellular structures, as well as viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia and other organisms without complete cellular structures *

These invisible planet hosts, we can eat, drink, run and dance here, thanks to their good mood. They don’t need us at all. But without them, we and other living things would not be able to survive a day.
